‘Where The Crawdads Sing’ *Book Review*

I had the pleasure of listening to ‘Where the Crawdads Sing’ by Delia Owens on Audible. The book follows a young girl named Kya who was adandoned by her family and left to fend for herself in the swamps of North Carolina.

I was not sure what to expect and as with most books it took a few chapters to catch my attention. Once it did I could see why this book made it several weeks on the New York Best Sellers List. I am usually not one for intricate details of surroundings as I feel that they are mostly page fillers but the way Delia Owens describes the North Carolina marsh is beautiful. It turns out she is a zoologist and it shows in her writing.

This coming of age/romance/mystery novel will always stay with me and I highly recommend it to anyone who has a love of nature and survival. It is my hope that they turn this book into a movie or Netflix series.
