Frugal Friday at the MoMA

I would like to feature a frugal Friday adventure. I live in Union City, NJ so most of my post will include places in the NY/NJ area.

MoMA

The MoMA is an art museum located in Midtown Manhattan. Admission is free every Friday from 4-8PM sponsored by UNIQLO. A regular priced adult ticket will set you back $25. https://www.moma.org/

MoMA is home to some great pieces of art including my personal favorite Starry Night by Vincent Van Gough. They also have Monet, Picasso, Andy Warhol and Frieda Kahlo.

Inside the museum are 6 floors of different art styles and ages. There is also a courtyard, restaurant, gift shop and cafe.

I visited both the cafe and the restaurant and must say that the cafe was better. The restaurant menu was too small, over priced and for an art museum lacked luster. (The walls with high ceilings were bare and painted off white).

The cafe however had nice options and is a tipping free establishment. The decor was nice and the service especially from the gentleman I believe to be the manager was outstanding.

If you find yourself in NYC on a Friday night enjoy a frugal adventure at the MoMA.
