It is my intention to put together my own costume for Halloween this year. I love going to the big stores and getting a cool costume but I don’t like the price tag that come with it. So, this year I will use what I have around the house and only buy things that might tweak the costume to take it to the next level.

You may not know what you want to be but there are plenty of ideas on the web. Pinterest is a great place to go to get inspiration. Look for something you know you have pieces around your home for and create off of that.

To add the extra flare to what you already have check out the thrift store. Another way to add flare is to paint your face. Practice looks now to perfect them by Halloween.

Some thoughts I have this year are a Witch, a Playboy bunny or Carrie from Sex in the City. I think with the recent death of Hugh Hefner I might go with the Playboy bunny and dress my husband up as Hef. Maybe. It’s a risk taking costume.
