Frugal Friday Cooking with Cookbooks

I have collected a few cookbooks going to talk shows in New York City and shopping at thrift stores. Today’s frugal Friday will involve staying at home and cooking dinner with a recipe from one of my cookbooks using stuff I already have at home.

The Chew A Year Of Celebration

My cookbook collection leans toward the fad diet genre which means there are lots of healthy meals to choose from. I chose a recipe from the Chew cookbook based on the fact that I had the ingredients.

Scallops With Slow Roasted Cauliflower

Cooking has never been something I’m good at. I enjoy eating out, Uber Eats and Postmates but was excited to give this activity a try for Frugal Friday. The food prep was simple and the instructions were easy to follow. I think everything turned out great and it was nice to put dinner on the table. Here are the results with an added salad of romaine, pepper jack cheese and Trader Joe’s Cilantro dressing. (I need to work on my plating).

Thank you for reading and stay tuned for next weeks Frugal Friday: Spring Cleaning.
