Valentine’s Day and Lent

Happy Valentines Day to you all! I hope it’s not a bitter holiday for you but instead it’s filled with someone you love or crush on. This year (2018) Lent falls on Valentine’s Day. I am not catholic but I do love Jesus and for the last 3 years I have successfully participated in giving up something for 40 days and nights to test and strengthen my will power.

My first year I gave up all meats, last year I gave up ice cream (it’s harder than it sounds especially since I eat it almost every night for dessert) and this year I am giving up gluten.

I am hoping to improve my diet, lose weight and get rid of some brain fog I always seem to be cast under. I have never been diagnosed with celiacs disease but I have always wondered if this slight change could make an impacting difference on the quality of my health.

In addition to giving up gluten, I will also read a daily devotional and go to church at least every other weekend. Well it looks like the big winner of Valentine’sDay 2018 is the big man Himself.

God bless and Happy Valentines Day!!!

Hi! I just saw you wrote about having a brain fog. That is exactly how I describe what happens to me during seasonal blues in the winter time. Something I recently tried was going Sugar Free (added or hidden) for a few days to see if it makes a difference. It made me feel a lot better. I wrote about my 3 day experience if you wanted to check that out. Hope you are feeling better. Tulips look beautiful! 🙂
