Here we are in mid December, and I like most have failed at my weight loss goals for the year. I usually start off strong only to slip back into my lazy routine by January’s end. I really do want to lose a few pounds and keep it off, I am just lacking the motivation. I will enjoy the holidays and all the food that comes with it but I will begin exercising today. No need to wait until the new year to get started. Here are a few things you can do to kick off your weight loss goals now.
Go to the gym! Too cold to leave the house, don’t have a gym? Workout from home. Dust off your workout videos and whatever equipment you may have lying around and use it. Try to do about 30 minutes of excercise or weightlifting 3 times a week. If you don’t have videos or weights. Search for 30 minute videos with no equitment on You Tube.
Take a walk around the neighborhood and check out the lights. Go for a run. Play with the kids or the dogs in the snow. Enjoy the outdoors and do it with family or friends (it’s better for the Christmas cheer). Or you can do something genorous like shovel the sidewalk for the elderly couple in your neighborhood.
WATCH WHAT YOU EAT
It’s not January so don’t deny yourself. Have a cookie or two, just not ten. The holidays are about eating tasty foods with good company. It’s all apart of the magic. Just be aware of how much you have eaten, you don’t want to over do it and give yourself a belly ache.
