I live for my days off. Nothing means more to me than my own time. I appreciate the grind and my mantra has always been ‘If you don’t work, you don’t eat’ but, I also like making the most out of life. If you can’t be rich, make yourself happy.

Unfortunately, for me I work as a bartender. It has its pros and cons, but it usually means I don’t have weekend off. Now, I am making the time to enjoy the weekend days as much as possible. That means not sitting around the house waiting until it’s time to go to work. It means getting up and doing stuff. Productivity makes me happy.

Here are a few weekend warrior things you can do during the day.

1) Workout

This might not seem fun to everyone but working out is good for you. Go for a walk, throw the ball with the kids and the dogs, visit the gym or take a bike ride. It will be good for you mentally as well as physically.

2) Brunch or Lunch

You can make something at home or go somewhere new. This can be as simple as a sandwich in the park or going to your favorite restaurant.

3) Bowling

I love to bowl. Im not good at it but it’s always been fun. I also enjoy ping pong. If you can find a ping pong table not being used for beer pong you should play. You won’t regret it.


Matinees are great. They cost less and are usually less crowded.

For an added bonus. Enjoy your weekend with family and friends.
