Now That the Holidays are Over

Happy 2018!!!

The holidays have come to an end January 6 was Three Kings Day and that marked the end of the holiday season for me. My father always made this a special holiday in our home, he even gave it a special name ‘Little Christmas’. On this day, there was always a $100 bill hidden in the Christmas tree for us in envelopes marked with our names. It was fun to search for our gift that the 3 Kings left for us. I would then spend my money buying clothes and Lisa Frank stuff.

Now that the holidays are over I am “really” ready to start my New Year’s resolutions and try new things. Here are a few posts to looks forward to in 2018.

Dry January

I like to go Dry for January #dryjanuary. No drinking alchohol during the month of January. I started late on this but that’s no reason to sweep this challenge under the rug. I hope to save money and be more productive. This is a win win, plus after the holidays which includes my birthday my liver needs a break. I can’t wait to share how I did.

Book Reviews

I have lots of reading and audiobooks I’m excited to get into. I will hopefully review 1 or 2 books a month. I am a fan of self help and biography’s but will occasionally dip into the non fiction category. Reading has always been fun for me, ever since my Babysitter’s Club membership back in the early 90’s.

Movie Reviews

The other day my Uber driver told me about MoviePass. It’s a subscription pass to see one 2D movie a day at participating movie theaters for less than $10 a month. This sounds unreal to me but, he swore by it and claimed to use it often. I am excited to receive my MoviePass in the mail so I can get started. I will review the MoviePass experience and all of the wonderful movies coming out in 2018.

Microblading

Eyebrows are all the rage these days. Unfortunately, I suffer from over plucking and bad eyebrow genes. I am hoping microblading is everything it’s cracked up to be. I will share with you what to expect and the results.

That should keep me busy, stay tuned and don’t forget to take down you Christmas decorations.

  1. Kudos for being dry during January! I have been so, for much longer-but that’s a whole other volume of stories.

  2. Oh man I was such a big fan of the babysitters club growing up (90s baby over here)! Love the idea of book reviews, I was thinking about doing this on my page as well. I’d love to get some ideas for new reads. Looking forward to it!

      2. Ooh! Good one. I will definitely check that one out. I just finished The Last Black Unicorn. It’s equally funny and serious. I’m listening to a self help book now and when I finish I will see what the buzz is about Fire and Fury.

      3. Ooh I’ll have to check those out. Little Bee by Chris Clave was one I read this summer and would totally recommend it. There are a few hard-to-read scenes bc of the emotional context, but it’s definitely worth it. Beautiful read.

    1. hi, it is a semi permanent tattoo for eyebrows, using small strokes that mimic hair. I just got mine done and will post results after healing to give a before and after
